Celebrating Five Years of Courage, Compassion and Care

Five years ago, Courage to Care was founded with one simple but powerful belief: that every child, regardless of their abilities, deserves to be loved, valued, and given every opportunity to reach their full potential.

Today, as we celebrate our fifth anniversary, we pause to reflect on a journey that has been filled with challenges, growth, hope, and countless moments that remind us why our work matters.

Courage to Care is a specialised Child and Youth Care Centre and Daycare Centre providing holistic care and support to children and young adults with severe to profound intellectual disabilities. Every day, our dedicated team works to create a safe, nurturing environment where each child receives the specialised care, therapy, education, and love they deserve.

Over the past five years, we have witnessed incredible moments of progress. From a child's first smile during therapy to new skills being developed, meaningful friendships being formed, and families finding support during difficult times, every achievement—big or small—is worth celebrating.

This milestone is not only about looking back. It is also about looking ahead.

Our theme for this celebration, "Five Years of Courage, Five Wishes for the Future," reflects our commitment to building an even brighter future for the children and families we serve.

Our five wishes are:

• That every child continues to receive the specialised care they deserve.

• That our facilities continue to grow into spaces where every child can thrive.

• That more people become aware of the unique needs and incredible potential of children with severe to profound intellectual disabilities.

• That meaningful partnerships continue to strengthen our ability to serve our community.

• That every child in our care experiences a future filled with dignity, opportunity, joy, and unconditional love.

None of our achievements over the past five years would have been possible without the unwavering support of our staff, families, volunteers, donors, partners, and the wider community. Every act of kindness, every shared opportunity, and every person who has chosen to walk alongside us has helped shape the organisation we are today.

As we celebrate this special milestone, we invite you to celebrate with us—not only by reflecting on how far we have come, but by sharing in the hope of what lies ahead.

The journey continues, and while there is still much to accomplish, we remain committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care and creating opportunities that enable every child and young adult in our care to live with dignity, purpose, and belonging.
